the angst and lost, hollow feeling the piece invokes is one shared by many people slowly making their way into adulthood - the world left behind for them seems stripped of all the glory and opportunity that was promised, and to achieve anything that's expected of you, you'll have to have already lived an entire impossible lifetime. many of us are left to contemplate our choices, our options and wade through it all, doing our best to keep our head above the water.

note that the wood's edges are scuffed from being transported, as is the case with most sketchnate pieces. the history of the piece is as important to the artwork as what it shows us, and so whatever happens to the pieces is part of the piece.
