inspired both by my early 'paintover' series and Barry McGee's series of painted bottle portraits, 'glance' depicts a boy with many eyes, most open but some closed. his abnormal excess of features and look of angst leading us to believe he's unhappy with his circumstances.some of us accept our differences, while some never look past them, and allow it to keep them down. Glance is a reminder that the things that make us different don't define us, but instead our attitude towards them.
